Let me introduce myself – the blogger.
Call me Korostenka. Let my name be hidden for a while.
I’m Ukrainian and like most people navigating this stormy life, have more hats than a clown at a birthday party. I’m a IT professional, volunteer, writer, culture enthusiast, mother, wife, daughter, friend, You name it, I’ve probably worn it.
I have lived in the UK for almost a decade, and I adore this country and its culture. But the land of my heritage has a special place in my heart.
I started this blog to share my love and admiration for Ukrainian culture. I also want to reflect on the rocky road which led me to this love. I’m old enough to be born in the soviet state*1. Believe me, there weren’t many chances to get to know our national culture at that time.
So, grab a cup of tea, and let’s explore Ukrainian culture together.
And if you want to learn about me and my blog a little more, please visit About the Blog and Its Author page.

- It is not a mistake; it is an example of the new culture in Ukraine that emerged from war. We write geographical names like russia and soviets with lowercase letters to reflect our new reality. I will come to language as a reflection of attitude later in the blog. ↩︎
